Meet Ilona
Ilona Mansoor is a Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) with six years of experience teaching learners across North West London and Hertfordshire. She runs iDrive Auto School of Motoring (IDASM) in partnership with Bill Plant Driving School, combining national training standards with the consistency of learning alongside the same local instructor every week.
Every lesson takes place in a modern automatic car fitted with dual controls. Ilona is known for her calm, methodical and encouraging teaching style: she explains the reasoning behind each manoeuvre clearly, uses visual diagrams for complex junctions, and never rushes a pupil onto busy roads before they feel ready.
Why learners choose a female instructor
Looking for a female driving instructor is one of the most frequent requests we receive from learners and parents in North West London. Because every driving lesson is two hours of one-to-one tuition inside a car, feeling relaxed with your instructor makes a real difference to how quickly your confidence grows.
- Comfort and ease from lesson one: Many students feel more comfortable asking questions, talking through mistakes and practising new manoeuvres with a female instructor.
- Cultural or religious preference: For many women and families across North West London, choosing a female instructor is a personal, cultural or religious preference for one-to-one lessons.
- Rebuilding confidence after a setback: Several learners join us after a difficult experience elsewhere and want a fresh start with a patient, unhurried approach.
Every student is welcome at iDrive, and our focus is always on clear communication, steady progress and safe driving habits for life.
Learning in an automatic
All lessons with Ilona are in a dual-control automatic car. Without a clutch pedal to balance or gears to change in heavy North West London traffic, you cannot stall at roundabouts or hill starts. That frees your attention to focus on mirrors, road positioning, hazard perception and smooth decision-making.
If you feel anxious about getting behind the wheel or returning to driving, read more on our dedicated page for automatic driving lessons for nervous drivers.
