Automatic Driving Lessons in Hendon & Colindale

iDrive Auto School of Motoring covers Hendon and Colindale every week. Lessons are with Ilona Mansoor, a DVSA-approved female driving instructor, in a modern dual-control automatic car.

We offer door-to-door pickup across Hendon Central, Brent Street, West Hendon, Colindale, Grahame Park, Beaufort Park and Burnt Oak, as well as Mill Hill and Hendon's university and college campuses. Lessons can start from home, work or college.

Hendon Driving Test Centre is on Aviation Drive in Beaufort Park, Colindale. Learning in the same area as your test centre is a real advantage: by test day you will already know the local junctions, roundabouts, speed limits and road markings.

We practise the situations that come up most around Hendon and Colindale: the busy A5 Edgware Road with its bus lanes and crossings, the A41 and A1 dual carriageways, Five Ways Corner, and the North Circular (A406) for students who are ready for faster roads. The many residential streets nearby give plenty of quiet space for manoeuvres such as parallel parking and bay parking.

Mill Hill Driving Test Centre is also nearby, and we prepare students for either centre with full mock tests on local routes.

Hendon and Colindale traffic can be stop-start, especially around Hendon Central and Edgware Road. In an automatic there is no clutch to manage in queues and no risk of stalling at busy junctions, so you can give your full attention to observation and planning. It is the reason many of our students learn faster and feel calmer.

Start with a single 2-hour lesson, save with a 10-hour or 20-hour block, or book intensive test preparation and Pass Plus. We also offer refresher lessons for licence holders, including drivers with overseas licences who want to get used to UK roads. If you feel anxious about driving, see our page on lessons for nervous drivers.
