Automatic Driving Lessons in Edgware

iDrive Auto School of Motoring is just up the road from Edgware, and Ilona Mansoor teaches on its streets every week. Ilona is a DVSA-approved female driving instructor offering calm, one-to-one automatic lessons in a modern dual-control car.

We offer door-to-door pickup across Edgware, including the town centre around Station Road and The Broadwalk, Burnt Oak, Canons Park, Stonegrove, Edgwarebury, and neighbouring Stanmore, Mill Hill and Colindale. Many students choose to be picked up from home, college or work, so lessons fit around your day.

Edgware is a great place to learn because it packs a bit of everything into a small area. The A5 Edgware Road gives you practice with busy multi-lane traffic, bus lanes, pedestrian crossings and frequent bus stops. The streets around Edgware station and The Broadwalk teach you to read busy town-centre traffic and parked cars. Quieter residential roads towards Canons Park and Edgwarebury are ideal for your first lessons and for practising manoeuvres.

As your confidence grows, we move on to faster roads such as the A41 and the A1, including the large roundabouts at Apex Corner and Stirling Corner, which come up regularly on local test routes.

Most Edgware learners take their test at Mill Hill Driving Test Centre on Bunns Lane, a short drive away. Borehamwood Driving Test Centre is another nearby option. Before your test we practise on the roads and junctions these centres use, and you will sit full mock tests so test day feels familiar rather than stressful.

Choose a single 2-hour lesson to get started, save with a 10-hour or 20-hour block, or book Pass Plus once you have passed. Full licence holders who want to rebuild confidence can book refresher lessons on the roads they actually use. If you feel anxious about driving, see our page on lessons for nervous drivers.
